Low Carbon Lifestyle
A daily diary by John Cossham, who tries to live a 'green' and ethical life. This is not the most exciting blog in the world. I'm not trying to sell you anything. I'm not going to wow anybody with amazing facts or funnies. It's a diary. Just my daily grind. Just mainly text and day to day stuff from a self-employed eco-activist, trying to be a good enough parent, but succeeding in living a low carbon lifestyle.

I've gardened this patch of Oxfordshire for nearly twenty years. What started out as a dusty former farmyard is now ....pretty mature. That is to say that the shrubs I planted when I first came here are fully grown and will need taking in hand this year! I am also determined to continue growing vegetables as maturing trees start to steal the light from my veg patch. I garden organically and welcome frogs, hedghogs and any wildlife...except slugs!! This blog will chart my successes and failures.

Hi, I'm Sarah and in April 2006 I became an allotment tenant for the first time & hope you'll enjoy following my progress! Most of my efforts in the first year went into growing sweet peas for my wedding to ‘He Who Doesn’t Dig’, (HWDD) making the wooden beds and clearing the weeds. 2007 was a very successful first year growing veg and spring 2008 saw Baby Digger (BD) arrive. This year I'm working on improving my time management trying to fit everything in!

Can an average person really create Zero Waste? The challenge was set and during the week 10-17 March 2008, one mother in Bury St Edmunds gave it a go. She only threw out a plaster. Can you do it too? Why not try your own Rubbish Diet and slim your bin. You'll be amazed at how easy it really is and you could even save some money. If Almost Mrs Average can do it, you can too.

University of Westminster: DS16_The Urban Animal. This year I am looking at the relationship between architecture and the animal world. We were asked to keep a pet. I chose to keep Eisenia Fetida or Red worms as they are more commonly known. These worms live in my kitchen in a box and they eat my organic food waste producing a rich fertilser for future food growing. This blog is a all about that process.
