CobraHead LLC is a small family-run company that produces hand tools for gardeners and small-scale growers. We promote home gardening, grow-your-own food projects, and the idea that growing good food properly is important to the well-being of humanity and the planet. In our blog we would like to share gardening ideas, talk about what we do with food from the garden and what we are doing to promote CobraHead and good gardening.

Gardening in Southern Wisconsin

~a seasonal blog of living and gardening in Wisconsin~

Like most people, my days are filled with both cheers and tears. Will share a little of both with you. There will be pictures of whatever catches my eye, especially anything with its roots in the dirt. Welcome!

Make money at home raising chickens. My blog gives you ideas that work to make money raising chickens.

At the tender age of 37, I married a dairy farmer. The following are some of my adventures in farming. Now we've been married over 5 years and you'd think I'd get used to all the things that can and do go wrong (or right!) in this difficult, wonderful, stressful, beautiful and dying profession, but every day brings something new. I am now in the process of launching a new quarterly magazine for women in agriculture and rural enterprise.

This is a blog where I can ramble on about my plants, especially my hummingbird garden, which is my passion. I have been gardening since childhood, but this is only my fourth year as a hummingbird gardener. It is also my fourth year gardening and living in Wisconsin.

Born and raised in Wisconsin. Despite the rumors, I am not a trained Master Gardener or Chef.

I come from Indiana "truck gardening" farm stock. I began my garden in 1976 and have enlarged the space at least once. In 1979 my garden received an "Honorable Mention" in the First Annual Victory Garden Contest. After my retirement in 2002 I did horticulture research and published research in the spring and fall of 2006.
